Local Outdoor Markets

Our local outdoor markets are a huge feather in the cap of a small village like Sedgefield and embody the “Local is lekker” South African philosophy.

They are within easy walking distance of each other at the Engen Garage turnoff on the George side of Sedgefield. Like locals, visitors can arrange with their families and friends to meet at a specific eating place or coffee bar and make it a full morning outing to browse these markets with their diverse offerings.

It's a pleasure to while away a few hours and drift around the colourful stalls in the warm balmy sunshine.

Whether you're browsing with friends or family or enjoying an outing alone free from encumberances, you're sure to enjoy the ambiance of these diverse markets.

The friendly stall owners are always willing to have a chat.

They welcome questions about their artistic endeavours, produce and products and, one thing is for sure it should not be difficult to find something memorable to purchase as a reminder of your holiday on the Garden Route!

Greenmarket, NYC Farmers' Market
Greenmarket was founded in 1976 with a two-fold mission: to promote regional agriculture by providing small family farms the opportunity to sell their locally grown, caught, foraged and baked products directly to consumers, and to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to the freshest, most nutritious locally grown food the region has to offer.

Although it has changed in form and feature over the decades, Covent Garden has been London’s official market since 1846. Today, Covent Garden Outdoors Farmers’ Market offers wonderfully fresh and local food to its citizens and visitors twice a week outside on the square from May to November. Share the passion for locally-grown food direct from local farmers, growers and producers.
