Using worn or torn old T-shirts and Vests

by Elizabeth
(Pretoria - South Africa)

South Africa is trying to reduce rubbish sent to landfill to zero by 2022. Start now by getting into good habits that will help us achieve this goal. Don't throw away old torn or worn cotton t-shirts or vests. They make excellent cleaning cloths for dusting furniture, washing floors or cars or wiping windows. You can also do some nimble sewing and downsize them to fit your short-haired furry companion, namely your dog, during the winter. By the time they're really ready for the garbage, you can sprinkle some spots of paraffin on them, wrap them around a piece of wood and use them to start the fire to warm a cold winter's evening.
