Seabreeze Apartment is the holiday home of Robin and Pam whose permanent home is in a little town, Battle, East Sussex, England. Pam says their hometown is a similar size to Sedgefield.
In 2012 after they had retired from their jobs as lecturers at London University, Robin decided to come on a holiday to South Africa. Robin was born here but left at the age of nineteen. While he and Pam were visiting relatives in Cape Town, Robin looked at the coastline on Google Earth and decided that the Garden Route looked like a great place to visit.
On the journey they found Crane Walk Corner in Sedgefield where they stayed a while and fell in love with the area. One day they walked to town to buy milk and fruit juice and before they returned, they had organised two viewings of properties. They settled on an apartment in a complex overlooking the Swartvlei Lagoon. When they come to South Africa for a few summer months each year, these "swallows" use it as their base from which they make forays far and wide to beautiful places like game parks and nature reserves around the country.
Pam says it is a wonderful place to come back to after their travels and their balcony provides her with her ideal way of birding - binoculars in one hand and a glass of wine in the other!
Their arms have been twisted to make the apartment available to holidaymakers while they are back in the UK. This means that this well situated apartment will be available for the popular Easter period when the Slow Festival is a Sedgefield special and the high demand Christmas period together with a number of other months throughout the year.
This modern, easy-to-live-in upstairs apartment has a sweeping panoramic view over the Swartvlei lagoon in central Sedgefield. It is in a gated complex and has open parking where there’s also space for canoes or boats to be safely left.
The open-plan living area has a balcony with a built-in braai overlooking green space and the lagoon where fishermen regularly fish, canoes can be launched and visitors can freely run, walk and cycle. One can easily walk to all the town’s amenities.
The lounge has full DSTV, Dvd, Blue ray and CD player.
The kitchen has all the mod-cons, a full stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment and crockery and cutlery for 6.
The apartment can sleep up to a family of six or lesser combinations down to even just 2 people. There are 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed, built in cupboards and side tables with lamps. It overlooks the lagoon and has an en suite shower, basin and toilet.
The similar second bedroom also with a double bed shares a communal bathroom (that has a bath) with a third bedroom that has bunk beds. There are built-in cupboards with sufficient storage for personal belongings in both rooms.
